Mellanox-technologies-logoThe Defense Information Systems Agency has cleared Mellanox Technologies‘ SwitchX family of Ethernet switches for deployment in Defense Department-run computer networks.

DISA gave the approval after the company’s Mellanox Federal Systems subsidiary secured a Unified Capabilities Approved Product List certification from the agency for the SwitchX series of 10/40 gigabit Ethernet switches, Mellanox said Monday.

According to DISA, a product can achieve the UC APL status once it meets DoD’s information assurance and interoperability requirements.

“Federal agencies of the U.S. government, specifically the Department of Defense, require the most advanced and high-performance networking solutions available,” said Dale D’Alessio, CEO of Mellanox Federal Systems.

“These solutions must also adhere to the strictest security requirements to ensure data protection and guarantee that their system is up and running at all times.”
