The U.S. Department of Homeland Security wants to collaborate with small businesses to develop tools for management of 13 technical areas identified by DHS’ science and technology directorate and domestic nuclear detection office.
Both DHS organizations will gather proposals from industry beginning Wednesday through a joint solicitation for the effort under an upcoming Small Business Innovation Research Program, the department said Monday.
Small businesses can submit their input to DHS electronically until Jan. 20.
DHS’ S&T directorate is interested in the development of security systems video/audio interoperability devices, blockchain technology, malware protection system, Internet of Things sensor, remote identity proofing authentication platform and autonomous navigation tool for emergency response.
The domestic nuclear detection office seeks ideas to develop a mobile toolkit for virtual and actual radiation detection, identification and localization, a plastic composite-based scintillation detector and a portable active interrogation system.
