BAE Systems will produce and supply 23 AAV7A1 Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability/Rebuild to Standard assault amphibious vehicles to Brazil’s marine corps through a potential $82 million contract.
The contract also covers test equipment and tools for maintenance, field service support, spare parts and training support for users of the AAV7A1 RAM/RS vehicles, BAE Systems said Monday.
The AAV7A1 RAM/RS works to transport military personnel and their equipment from ships through hostile territories and has an updated suspension system, drive train and engine.
BAE said it expects contract work to begin June 2016 at its facility in Pennsylvania and plans to start vehicle deliveries by February 2017.
