cybersecurityBooz Allen Hamilton has released a list of top technology trends commercial organizations could encounter in the field of advanced analytics and cybersecurity in 2016.

The company said Thursday it expects firms to invest in cyber-based “fusion centers” that work to merge analytics with various security program-generated data sets in an effort to gain insights on network vulnerabilities.

“As cyber risk and advanced analytics demand increasing attention from the C-suite, we are about to enter a fundamentally different period,” said Bill Stewart, executive vice president and leader of commercial cyber business at Booz Allen.

“The dynamics will change… Skilled leaders will factor these changing dynamics into their planning, investments and operations.”

Other trends Booz Allen cited include the increased cyber risk associated with the use of connected systems and devices and the availability on the “dark Web” of tools that threat actors use to launch cyber attacks.

According to Booz Allen, the demand for professionals who perform information security monitoring tasks and respond to cyber threats will increase with the adoption of Internet of Things.

Companies will also work to determine how to leverage analytics and achieve organizational competency in its adoption before they launch big data initiatives, the company said.
