Vencore has subcontracted systems integration services provider StorExcel to develop an integrated storage and content management tool based on Quantum Corp.’s storage platform for installation at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center.
StorExcel will integrate Quantum’s StorNext 5 platform with Telestream-built Vantage media processing tool and IPV-made Curator system for media asset management under the contract, Quantum said Wednesday.
The integrated platform will work to help KSC process, share and retain still imagery, surveillance camera-derived videos, footage during space launches and other digital content.
Vencore acts as the primary contractor on the engineering services contract with KSC.
StorNext 5, which has completed factory acceptance testing, is designed to facilitate collaboration and manage data workflows and has an archive-based tape library, primary disk storage and metadata device.
IPV’s Curator is a proxy-based system that works to help users manage collaborative workflows and access and archive media content, while Telestream’s Vantage is a software-enabled platform designed to help content owners edit, monetize and distribute digital media.
