cyberThreatConnect and nonprofit corporation Energy Sector Security Consortium have formed an alliance in an effort to protect critical energy facilities from potential cyber attacks.

ThreatConnect will combine its threat intelligence platform with EnergySec’s information sharing programs and industry knowledge to improve the security of energy infrastructures against network vulnerabilities, ThreatConnect said Monday.

“EnergySec understands the value of member collaboration, and the impact that early warning can have against threats targeting this vital industry sector,” said Christy Coffey, business development director at ThreatConnect.

Coffey added the company will add EnergySec to its list of information security and analysis center clients as part of the partnership.

ThreatConnect’s cloud-based platform works to help companies collect, analyze and share threat intelligence data across organizations in order to respond to cyber threats.
