Rockwell Collins has been awarded a contract to support the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration‘s aerial surveys of navigational aids and flight procedures in domestic airspace.
The company said Monday it will provide a suite of ARINCDirect planning, scheduling and tracking, safety data management, aircraft datalink and international trip services in support of the agency’s flight inspection activities.
David Poltorak, vice president of business aviation services at Rockwell Collins, said the company aims to help government customers manage and secure aerospace systems with its ARINCDirect platform.
Rockwell Collins noted the FAA will also use the company’s platform to help the U.S. Defense Department increase the number of inspection flights at some foreign navigation facilities.
The agency owns a fleet of 32 flight inspection planes.
