Northrop Grumman is talking with countries in the Persian Gulf, North Africa and Asia on potential purchases of the country’s E-2D Advanced Hawkeye aircraft despite the United Arab Emirates’ decision to not buy that plane, Reuters reported Friday.

Northrop officials told Reuters Japan plans to buy four E-2D planes and the U.S. Navy has taken in 20 Hawkeye aircraft under a 75-plane production contract.
E-2D planes work to provide situational awareness, missile defense and command and control capabilities for warfighters.
