Microsoft has moved to help enterprise clients consume data streams from Internet of Things devices by incorporating Esri’s location services and spatial analytics to the Microsoft Azure IoT suite.
The partnership is intended to provide preconfigured platform services to customers and partners, Esri said Monday.
“Our collaboration with Esri will extend the Azure IoT Suite to include rich location and geospatial services, which are critical in the world of IoT,” said Sam George, partner director of Azure IoT at Microsoft.
“The common language of geography unlocks the value in IoT data streams,” added Chris Cappelli, global business development head at Esri.
