Macquarie Telecom has implemented a MapR Technologies cloud-based data platform in Australia in an effort to help government agencies there protect online communications from potential cyber attacks.
MapR Distribution works to analyze big data workloads in hybrid cloud environments and detect network vulnerabilities through the Apache Hadoop software framework, MapR said Tuesday.
Apache Hadoop is designed to process large amounts of data and has a distributed file system built for data storage.
“Macquarie Telecom will be collecting massive amounts of data and we are delighted to be partnering with them to build the system they need to enhance the federal and state governments’ security through powerful data analytics and predictive security services, and through a platform available in the cloud,†said Justin Bock, regional manager for Australia and New Zealand at MapR.
