Leidos and the University of Southern California Viterbi School of Engineering’s Information Sciences Institute have partnered for two research projects that seek to advance high-performance computing and network analysis.
Leidos said Monday it will fund both projects through a five-year, $500,000 grant under the Strategic University Alliances Program.
The program seeks to support science, technology, engineering and math education initiatives.
Gulu Gambhir, chief technology officer at Leidos, said a company goal for the partnership is to help and inspire scientists and engineers to develop new technologies for clients.
The first research project will focus on the development of new algorithms to determine additional links in knowledge graphs and networks through the use of network analysis tools.
USC’s second initiative will work to make advances in the field of HPC through the analysis of natural language processing algorithms on field programmable gate arrays and other computer hardware.
