Israel Aerospace Industries launched a new drone detection, identification and disruption system at the Seoul International Aerospace and Defense Exhibition in October in efforts to address the potential threat of drones.
The company said Oct. 19 that Drone Guard features three-dimensional radars, electro-optical sensors and electronic attack jamming systems made by IAI subsidiary ELTA Systems to identify and disrupt enemy drones.
“We believe that in the near future every critical asset and public site will require these safety measures for protection against hostile drones,” said Nissim Hadas, executive vice president of IAI and president of ELTA.
Drone Guard works to detect drones that operate at low altitude, speed and visibility and commandeer them to shut down, crash-land or return to the point of origin, IAI added.
