Intel and Honeywell have showcased a connected safety tool offering designed to help keep industrial workers and first responders safe as they perform their duty.
The Honeywell Connected Worker tool incorporates a mobile hub for sensor data collection and Intel’s Quark SE microcontroller-based devices, Honeywell said Tuesday.
“The joint use case from Honeywell and Intel demonstrates an industrial wearable solution for a connected worker to help protect workers from unexpected and previously undetected risks in industrial environments,” said Doug Davis, senior vice president of the Intel Internet of Things group.
The tool works to monitor a worker’s condition and display data on a cloud-based dashboard for plant managers and incident commanders to make decisions related to workplace safety.
Intel and Honeywell demonstrated the prototype at Intel’s Internet of Things Insights Day.
