CAE has secured a subcontract from logistics support contractor ADS to provide the U.S. Air Force with a fuselage training platform designed to train aeromedical evacuation crews for emergency procedures on both KC-135 tanker aircraft and C-17 transport planes.

CAE will equip the C-17/KC-135 Aeromedical Evacuation Training System with medical patient simulators and a mission system that works to simulate in-flight movements, the company said Monday.

The contract, awarded through the Defense Logistics Agency’s Tailored Logistics Support initiative, also covers curriculum, instructional support, courseware and related training support services for the service branch.

“We are pleased to once again be working with ADS to provide the Air Force with another Aeromedical Evacuation Training System,” said Ray Duquette, president and general manager of CAE USA.

CAE will hand the C-17/KC-135 fuselage trainer to the service branch in early 2017.

The company is also scheduled to deliver an Aeromedical Evacuation Training System for C-130 aircraft to Dobbins Air Reserve Base in Georgia in January.Aeromedical Evacuation Training System CAE
