Boeing and a subsidiary of India-based conglomerate Tata Sons have formed a joint venture to develop and market integrated systems, as well as produce aerostructures in India.
The joint venture will set up a facility to manufacture aircraft components for integration with AH-64 Apache helicopters and compete for production task orders in defense and commercial sectors for Boeing-developed aerial platforms., Boeing said Monday.
“This partnership will capitalize on India’s industrial capability, innovation and talent,†said Chris Chadwick, president and CEO of Boeing’s of defense, space and security segment.
Tata Sons segments TAL Manufacturing Solutions and Tata Advanced Materials will supply composite panels, power unit door fairings, floor beams and ground support components for Boeing-built aircraft such as C-17 Globemaster III, P-8I and 787-9.
