BAE Systems has selected Spartan Motors to perform integration and assembly services for the International Light Armored Vehicles that BAE will build for Iraq through a foreign military sales agreement.
Spartan’s defense and government operating group will work to integrate the automotive system, complete the assembly and provide inspection services for 29 ILAVs, Spartan said Tuesday.
Vehicle production is scheduled to start in February 2016 and will run through June 2016.
Steve Guillaume, president of Spartan Specialty Vehicles, said the company is in the position to help BAE Systems manufacture vehicles for “mission-critical and often life-saving deployments.”
The ILAV vehicles will work to support convoy operations and detect improvised explosive devices.
