The U.S. Army has issued a request for information on potential industry sources of technology that can detect and identify unmanned aerial vehicles that weigh less than 20 pounds.
The Army’s Rapid Equipping Force is also looking for non-kinetic radio frequency or GPS jamming systems intended to counter drones that pose a threat to the safety of people, the military branch said in a sources sought announcement posted Nov. 6 on FedBizOpps.
REF will evaluate responses to the RFI to select drone countermeasure platforms at technology readiness level 6 or above as it prepares for a planned test event in December.
Interested parties can submit their ideas to the military branch through Nov. 16.
