Harris Corp. has received a nine-month, $40 million contract extension to operate and maintain the satellite control network of the U.S. Air Force at several locations in the U.S. and abroad.
The company said Tuesday it booked the extension during the first quarter of its 2016 fiscal year.
“The Air Force satellite control network is crucial to our national security, and Harris is committed to providing mission excellence,†said Wayne Lucernoni, president of mission sustainment at Harris.
Work will take place at Schriever Air Force Base in Colorado and other locations in California; Diego Garcia Station, Guam Tracking Station at Andersen Air Force Base; Hawaii Tracking Station at Kaena Point; New Hampshire, Florida and Greenland.
