Verizon has launched a networking service to help federal agencies and other public sector organizations link and manage their workloads across cloud computing platforms and data centers.
The Secure Cloud Interconnect works to provide users a private Internet connection in order to access information and applications stored in data centers and private, public and hybrid cloud platforms, Verizon said Wednesday.
The new offering aims to “deliver the connectivity our public sector clients require to support workload and application deployments across multiple cloud and data center providers,†said Michael Maiorana, senior vice president of public sector markets at Verizon’s enterprise solutions segment.
Verizon has started to offer Secure Cloud Interconnect to federal agencies through the Networx Enterprise and Networx Universal contract vehicles.
Agencies can use the service to access cloud platforms from Microsoft and Verizon that have Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program certifications, Verizon said.
