Metra has selected Parsons to install collision-avoidance technology on Chicago’s commuter trains.
Parsons will implement the Positive Train Control system in 12 railroads to integrate global positioning system devices, radios, trackside antennas and computers, Parsons said Sept. 3.
“PTC will significantly improve safety for Chicago’s traveling public and we’re proud to be contributing to this important endeavor,†said Todd Wager, Parsons group president.
PTC is designed to help monitor train movements in order to prevent collisions and accidents.
