Neustar and Hortonworks have partnered to develop a standards-based platform for organizations to register, secure and communicate with Internet of Things technology.
The companies plan to share the resulting product with Apache open-source software developers in an effort to drive adoption of connected devices, Neustar said Wednesday.
“By working with Hortonworks, Neustar can bring all of its expertise in the delivery of large-scale domain name system, identity, marketing, data information, real-time analytics, security and communications services to IoT using standards,†said Hank Skorny, Neustar senior vice president for IoT.
Hortonworks aims to develop a code that would use Neustar’s multifactor identification and authorization models for accessing device registry systems.
The collaborative project also includes integration of the Apache NiFi dataflow automation system with Neustar’s device registry, security and policy management service offerings.
