Apprio has secured a potential five-year, $3.4 million contract to create enterprise data models in support of the Federal Health Architecture’s Federal Health Information Model.
FHA is an Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology-administered e-government program that seeks to help federal agencies develop common information platforms in an effort to achieve transparency, data quality and interoperability among health IT systems, Apprio said Tuesday.
The FHIM aims to help agencies comply with health IT interoperability mandates through the identification of common data that could be used to facilitate information sharing with private healthcare institutions.
“Apprio has had the pleasure of supporting broad federal collaboration through FHA for the last year, and it’s clear that the FHIM will play a critical role in ensuring federal investments in health IT will align with a national strategy for interoperability,†said Bobbie Peterson, executive vice president of health solutions at Apprio.
Apprio will also integrate information models with model-driven health tools that are based on open-source architecture.
