Abt Associates will provide support to the U.S. Agency for International Development for the implementation of a malaria prevention and treatment program as part of the five-year, $20 million Zimbabwe Assistance Program in Malaria.
The company said Thursday it will help the ministry of health and child care in Zimbabwe implement the program in 47 districts in support of efforts to fight malaria in the country.
Abt will provide case management, communications, monitoring and evaluation as well as research services under ZAPIM.
The program also expands on the company’s participation in the Africa Indoor Residual Spraying project of the President’s Malaria Initiative, Abt added.
ZAPIM partners include Save the Children, Johns Hopkins University affiliate Jhpiego and the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine.
