Raytheon plans to expand its presence in Colorado Springs, Colorado, after the company won a potential $700 million contract to support North American Aerospace Defense Command operations at the U.S. Air Force‘s Cheyenne Mountain base.
The company said Wednesday it will open a new office in the city and hire as many as 700 employees through 2016 as part of the expansion plan.
Raytheon intends to hold recruitment events in the coming weeks.
Todd Probert, vice president of mission support and modernization at Raytheon’s intelligence, information and services business, said the company seeks a “seamless” transition in executing its contract with AF.
Under the multiyear contract, Raytheon will work with NORAD to manage and sustain an integrated warning and attack assessment platform designed to analyze and alert the U.S. military of potential space threats.
