NIC Federal will continue its work to support the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s pre-employment screening program under a new potential three-year contract.
FMCSA’s program provides access to driver crash and inspection data for commercial carriers to evaluate potential safety risks of prospective driver-employees, NIC said Thursday.
The contract contains a one-year base period and two one-year options.
“FMCSA and NIC have developed a private-public partnership that simultaneously supports the agency’s mission, achieves cost savings, and mitigates risk for the industry,†said Robert Knapp, chief operating officer for NIC.
Drivers also use the program to validate and correct their driving history data when discrepancies arise.
