CellTowerMutualink and IP Access International have partnered to jointly offer a new emergency communications service intended to help customers meet public safety and critical infrastructure mission requirements.

The offering was developed as a collaboration tool for agencies, their partners and critical infrastructure organizations during disasters via voice, video and data communications, Mutualink said Monday.

Mutualink combines its IRAPP network with IP Access’ broadband satellite service in order to help agencies communicate with partners.

Mark Hatten, CEO of Mutualink, said the company intends for the service to help address “the nation’s long unsolved and persistent problem of the lack of interoperability between first responders as well as the community of critical infrastructure entities.”

IRAPP uses peer-based architecture for agencies to collaborate.
