Leidos and Boundless have forged a strategic alliance to further develop and market open-source geospatial software and cyber defense tools and services.
The partnership will allow Leidos to use Boundless’ OpenGeo Suite geospatial platform to update its proprietary systems with open-source applications and support its integration initiatives that seek to address intelligence and national security efforts, Leidos said Tuesday.
OpenGeo Suite is designed to help users manage geospatial data and create maps and applications on mobile devices, desktop computers and web browsers.
Leidos will also update its DigitalEdgeTM platform through Boundless’ open-source channels.
DigitalEdgeTM is designed to incorporate big data workloads and data extraction, transformation and loading processes into an analytics system.
The agreement also covers support for GeoServer, QGIS, PostGIS and other open-source geographic information systems and applications that run on the OpenGeo Suite.
