Harris Corp. will manufacture new handheld radios for the U.S. Special Operations Forces under a potential six-year, $390 million contract.
Harris said Tuesday its SOF Tactical Communications handheld radio is designed to help users simultaneously communicate over two channels and legacy systems.
The STC radio has a Selective Availability Anti-Spoofing Module GPS receiver and a tool that works to help users receive signals-based threat data and digital videos for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance operations.
The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract has a base term of five years and an option year.
