A Deltek study has found that almost 400 architectural and engineering services companies aim to capture more public infrastructure improvement projects involving water systems and roads and bridges over the next 18 months.
John Bornstein, Deltek’s marketing manager for the North American A&E industry, wrote in a blog post published Monday that public sector accounts for approximately 40 percent of the U.S. A&E and construction services market.
In his article, Bornstein also highlighted several strategies that he and other Deltek professionals believe can help A&E firms grow in the federal, state and local government markets.
Companies should identify the level of government, market segments and geographic areas they want to target, as well as align business development plans with their key target growth areas, he noted.
He also advised A&E companies to assess their businesses’ strengths and weaknesses, size up the competition and stay compliant with government acquisition regulations when they decide to do business with agencies.
