CenturyLink has begun to offer its customers Pivotal’s platform-as-a-service environment via CenturyLink’s cloud marketplace, Talking Cloud reported Friday.
Dave Shacochis, vice president of cloud platform for CenturyLink, said the company intends for the Pivotal cloud foundry to expand the developer community’s access to its infrastructure-as-a-service platform, Mike Vizard reports.
Shacochis noted that cloud foundry environments assist developers in building applications and managing the IaaS ecosystem, according to the report.
CenturyLink designed its IaaS platform with application programming interfaces that are compatible with OpenStack, according to Shacochis.
He added that access to private PaaS services makes cloud foundry “attractive,†Talking Cloud reports.
