A business unit of BWX Technologies has been awarded $34.5 million in contracts to produce nuclear reactors and related components for the U.S. Navy’s aircraft carriers and submarines.
BWXT‘s nuclear operations group will perform majority of the contract work at its facilities in Virginia, Ohio and Indiana in the next two years, BWX Technologies said Monday.
The total contract value comprises $25.1 million in new contracts and $9.4 million in exercised options under a previously awarded contract.
BWXT-built nuclear reactor components are installed onboard the Ford– and Nimitz-class aircraft carriers and Seawolf-, Ohio-, Los Angeles– and Virginia-class submarines.
