Chris O’Connell, vice president for federal sales and public sector at Appian, believes there needs to be a closure to the gap between mobile technology and enterprise systems.
O’Connell wrote in an opinion piece for GCN published Friday that government agencies and commercial users could use mobile devices to collaborate and access enterprise data at the federal and state level.
He said the Defense Department, for example, can monitor and maintain a fleet of vehicles through “mobile-enabled decision making.â€
O’Connell also highlighted mobile technology’s application in healthcare, where he says enterprise systems can integrate into consumer wearable technology to collect data for health feedback and reports.
One of wearable technology’s purposes is to help track the condition of users in order to send health-related data to healthcare agencies, O’Connell wrote.
