Progeny Systems has been awarded a $10.9 million contract modification to continue helping the U.S. Navy build an integrated shipboard and shore-based maintenance decision platform.
The Defense Department said Monday the company will create and integrate hardware components and software applications for the military branch to attain system-level functionality onboard naval ships and submarines.
Work also covers the production of an engineering development model to update the Navy’s existing temporary alteration for a wireless sensor network that will be integrated with baseline Virginia-class submarine systems.
The contract was awarded through the Navy’s Small Business Innovation Research program and the branch will provide $4,823,555 at the time of award from fiscal 2015 other procurement and research, development, test and evaluation funds.
Progeny is scheduled to finish work in August 2016.
