cybersecurityThe Maryland-based National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence is searching for industry sources to develop a cybersecurity system intended to help control access to information technology assets.

Contractors would design three projects around access control, personal identity verification credentials and mobile devices, the National Institute of Standards and Technology said Friday.

One project is focused on the development of a model system to authorize personnel for access to applications and data.

The companies will also work to demonstrate the process of authenticating mobile device users by creating a reference design in another project.

A third initiative involves the implementation an enterprise-class mobile device security.

NIST aims to produce cybersecurity practice guides and special publications through the projects.
