The Baltimore City Community College, Napa Valley College, Queensborough Community College and Santa Monica College will each receive up to $250,000 in annual funds over three years under the Minority University Research and Education Project Community College Curriculum Improvement program, the space agency said Wednesday.

NASA has also tapped Texas State University to become a MUREP Educator Institute.

The university will work to provide training for future teachers at NASA’s field centers and will get up to $1 million in annual funds over three years.

The agency’s MUREP seeks to promote STEM education, engage more educators and students from minority serving schools and increase the talent base for research and development work in the aerospace field.
