Motorola Solutions has been awarded a 55-month, $112 million contract to update the Puget sound emergency radio network of King County, Wash., where Seattle is located.
First responders in the area will have access to Motorola Solutions’ ASTRO 25 digital radio technology to perform public safety missions under the contract, Motorola Solutions said Thursday.
Mark Schmidl, vice president of sales for Motorola Solutions, said the company “shares King County’s vision to implement a…voice radio system that will provide improved coverage and capacity for first responder agencies throughout the region.â€
The project team will oversee the updates to radio infrastructure, call logging systems, video surveillance, consoles and subscribers under a $273 million funding package approved by King County voters.
