Lockheed Martin‘s commercial launch services subsidiary will support the launch of EchoStar‘s Jupiter 2 or XIXÂ communications satellite in late 2016 aboard United Launch Alliance‘s Atlas V rocket.
EchoStar said Wednesday the SSL-built EchoStar XIX is a Ka-band satellite that works to provide satellite Internet service to North American customers of HughesNet.
The satellite will launch from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida.
According to EchoStar, it anticipates at least 15 years of service for EchoStar XIX.
