IBM has consolidated the Blue Box private cloud-as-a-service into its global data center infrastructure that runs SoftLayer.
The OpenStack-powered Blue Box Cloud, recently acquired by IBM, has been added to the OpenStack portfolio to help customers operate public cloud, IBM said Wednesday.
“Today, we“™ve taken a big step toward our goal of delivering private clouds to customers anywhere in the world “” and we“™re offering deployment timelines that are unheard of within traditional private cloud,“ said Jesse Proudman, chief technology officer at Blue Box.
Customers will be able to leverage the OpenStack infrastructure from a data center regardless of location and isolate data within SoftLayer‘s global data centers, IBM says.
