The U.S. Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity has issued a request for information on existing methods for modeling and forecasting of low-frequency events.
IARPA said Aug. 12 in a FedBizOpps notice it also seeks industry’s help to find alternative approaches to test and evaluate if rare event prediction techniques work.
Areas of interest highlighted in the announcement include technological and natural hazards, epidemiology, political science, economics and international relations.
Additionally, the agency wants to know about structured datasets for rare event analysis and how to gather, compile, maintain, update and document the datasets.
Responses to the RFI are due Sept. 18 at 4 p.m. Eastern Time.
