The Commerce Department has partnered with PayPal to identify information for U.S. businesses to decide where to focus their export strategies.
The goal is to help expand the nation’s exports, Ian Kalin, chief data officer at the Commerce Department, wrote in a blog published Monday.
The team identified opportunities in targeting benchmarks to business owners based on data from initial experiments, Kalin wrote.
The partnership operates as a working group under the Commerce Data Advisory Council, with Kalim and Vadim Kutsyy, head of data strategy and stewardship at PayPal, co-chairing the group.
