Deloitte has created a one-day immersive workshop to gather data about strategic and technical challenges facing newly appointed or incumbent chief information security officers and to help them balance their responsibilities.
The company said Wednesday it found that 77 percent of CISO Transition Lab participants prioritize integration of business and data security strategies.
CISOs also seek to bolster their organizations’ data governance and protection as well as security program governance and talent management efforts, according to Deloitte.
“As organizations realize that cyber risk is intimately linked to their innovation and growth strategies, expectations of CISOs are changing dramatically,” said Ed Powers, a Deloitte principal and leader of its cyber risk services practice.
Findings from the Transition Lab also show that CISOs spend about 77 percent of their time performing the role of a technologist and a guardian on technical issues.
