Booz Allen Hamilton and Hogan Assessment Group have conducted a job analysis survey to evaluate the traits of data scientists.
Booz Allen received almost 200 responses that indicate “the most important attribute to emerge was a data scientist’s flexibility and problem solving capabilities,†the company said Monday.
“Data scientists are inherent problem solvers who thrive on the thrill of the chase and the hint of the possible,†said Angela Zutavern, a vice president at Booz Allen.
“Data scientists gravitate towards the most difficult challenges, because they understand the power of their craft and are passionate about using it to give back to their communities,†added Zutavern.
Booz Allen used the assessment’s results to develop a data science competency framework intended to assist in organizations’ hiring and training programs.
