A TechServe Alliance report indicates that employment in the fields of information technology and engineering has grown steadily at 4.4 percent and 0.7 percent, respectively, since June 2014.
The trade association said July 17 that IT grew by 208,200 workers and engineering added 18,600 workers in the past year as IT and engineering jobs are available across a variety of sectors.
“IT employment continued its modest growth trajectory in June while the rate of growth in engineering employment remained sluggish,” said TechServe Alliance CEO Mark Roberts.
The sectors that offer IT and engineering jobs include computer systems and design, management and technical consulting, data processing and hosting, computer and electronic product manufacturing, professional and technical services and federal, state and local government.
