A new Technavio report forecasts that increased demand for data backup services will drive a 57 percent compound annual growth of the data protection-as-a-service market from 2015 to 2019.
The research firm said Thursday the DPaaS platform works to help developers build mobile and web applications as well as minimize backend coding and server-side programming issues.
“Organizations can safeguard their data at the time of a disaster, by maintaining their data with a third-party provider, as they are located off-site,†said Faisal Ghaus, a Technavio vice president.
The report also offers information on the disaster-recovery-as-a-service market, which covers data storage, archiving and retrieval service offerings.
