BAE Systems has teamed up with Saab Australia as it works to pursue its joint bid with Finland-based Patria for Australia’s armored vehicle program.
Saab Australia will work to provide subsystems and related support services under a memorandum of understanding with BAE Systems for the proposed Land 400 Phase 2 platform, which aims to develop and upgrade combat reconnaissance vehicles of Australia’s defense force, BAE Systems said Monday.
“With Land 400, BAE Systems seeks to strengthen Australia’s advanced manufacturing capability and maximize Australian industry involvement within its supply chain,†said Graeme Bent, director for land and integrated systems at BAE Systems Australia.
Under the joint bid, BAE will serve as a primary contractor while Patria will work to manufacture armored modular land vehicles for the program.
