Raytheon has turned over a command, control, communications and surveillance system to Jordanian armed forces under a $79 million contract with the Defense Threat Reduction Agency.
The company will also design and test radars, electro-optical infrared cameras, communications, and command and control software as part of the C3S system, Raytheon said Wednesday.
“This work is vital in the Middle East, and we are particularly pleased that we were able to deliver these critical security capabilities to Jordan ahead of schedule,†said Dave Wajsgras, president of Raytheon intelligence, information and services.
Raytheon will also work to integrate quick reaction team vehicles, test solar-based power systems, install sensors in a common operating picture, and upgrade a training facility.
Under the contract with DTRA awarded in April 2011, the company is tasked to train operators, administrators and maintainers on the system.
