Northrop Grumman Corp. has been selected to supply mission computer for a U.S. Marine Corps helicopter upgrade program.
The company will deliver its FlightPro Gen III mission computers for the UH-1Y and AH‑1Z aircraft under the contract with the Naval Air Systems Command, Northrop Grumman said Thursday.
Northrop is scheduled to perform the contract from October 2016 through October 2017.
Ike Song, vice president of situational awareness systems business unit at Northrop Grumman, said the mission computer is designed for clients that seek an open architecture that works with multiple platforms.
The FlightPro Gen III computer combines mission, weapons and video processing systems that are developed to run multi-function displays.
Users will be able to view aircraft performance, flight instruments, onboard sensor and other monitoring data using the FlightPro computer, Northrop Grumman says.
