Maximus has donated $20,000 to the Lowcounty Ministries – Reverend Pinckney Fund that seeks to support healthcare, economic programs and youth and child development efforts in Charleston, S.C.
The fund is an initiative of the city of Charleston and the non-profit organization Palmetto Project, the company said Thursday.
The fund is named after Rev. Clementa Pinckney, the late pastor of the Mother Emanuel A.M.E. church and one of nine people killed in the June 17 shooting.
“Maximus operates several projects in South Carolina, including one in the Charleston area, and we are proud to offer our support during this difficult time,†said Richard Montoni, Maximus CEO and an inductee into Executive Mosaic’s Wash100 list for 2015.
The company made the contribution through Maximus Foundation, its philanthropic arm that uses corporate funds and employee contributions to support community groups and their projects through grants.
