IBM has unveiled a new center in Montpellier, France to provide technical support for developers as they work to create applications for big data workload management.
IBM said Thursday it collaborated with NVIDIA and Mellanox to set up the POWER Acceleration and Design Center through the OpenPower Foundation co-founded by the three firms.
The center at IBM’s client facility will house technical professionals who will advise software developers on how to craft new applications using Mellanox InfiniBand networking offering, NVIDIA Tesla Accelerated Computing Platform and IBM’s Power architecture, according to IBM.
“Our launch of this new center reinforces IBM’s commitment to open-source collaboration and is a next step in expanding the software and solution ecosystem around OpenPOWER,†said Dave Turek, vice president of HPC Market Engagement at IBM.
