David Nichols, formerly director of the Missouri Department of Transportation, has been appointed vice president and transportation program director at Parsons.
Nichols will be responsible in developing client relationships in both domestic and international markets and overseeing the company’s major transportation projects, Parsons said Wednesday.
“His proven leadership skills and ability to identify and implement innovative solutions for transportation needs will serve our existing and potential customers well,†said Todd Wager, Parsons group president.
During his more than three decades at MoDOT, Nichols led major road and bridge construction projects, designed safety programs for motorists and law enforcement officers and handled public-private partnerships and design-build programs for the agency.
The registered engineer previously served as a committee vice chair and board member of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials.
Nichols graduated from the University of Missouri with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
